Demi buys her family a new home
Most people GET gifts for their birthday….however actress Demi Lovato totally flipped the script and on her 18th birthday GAVE her family one of the biggest gifts a child could ever give to her family…..a HOUSE!
The Disney star decided to celebrate her big day by giving back in a big way to her family, who has unconditionally supported her throughout her career, and handed them the keys to a brand new Mediterranean style home she purchased outside of Los Angeles.
At her birthday party Thursday night (Aug 19) at Buddakan in New York City, the young actress told People.com:
“I just bought a house! … For me to give [that] to my family on my birthday, that was the best present.” Lovato also plans to live on the property, in a house in the backyard.
“It’s got pretty much everything you could possibly imagine in it,” she says. “It’s the most beautiful, homey-feeling house. I love it.” And, as a bonus, “the pool has a water slide, which is really cool,” she says.

Demi reveals her tour rituals
CHICAGO — With just two days until Demi Lovato launches a tour with her "Camp Rock 2" friends the Jonas Brothers there isn't much time left for her to have fun in Chicago, the first stop on their tour. But the singer said that when she gets into a city for a performance, she definitely has a few things she must do.
"Well, sometimes there's little errands, and sometimes I like to go shopping," she told MTV News between rehearsals for Saturday night's show at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre. "[I try to] make it a little bit more exciting when I go into a city rather than just go into a city, go into the hotel, playing a show, get back on the bus.
"So I like to do things that'll change it up," she said. "But I have my favorite places in some cities."
It's easy for Lovato to find her favorite places in L.A., where she lives and occasionally finds herself stopping on tour.
"I stay home and spend a lot of time with my family," she said. "I go to Pinkberry [for frozen yogurt], and I just kind of get excited doing my own thing."
So back to the shopping: Does Lovato like to explore, or does she embrace her old standbys?
"I'm a big shopper," she said. "Given the amount of time that I have, I go to my favorite stores first, but then if I have time and I see a cute boutique store, I'll go there."
What should Demi do with her downtime in Chicago? Will you be checking out her tour with the JoBros? Let us know in the comments!

Demi wishesh she kept her relationships Private
Disney star Demi Lovato wished she had kept her relationship with Joe Jonas a 'secret'.
The pair's relationship played out in front of the public and now Lovato is regretting not keeping her romance with her Camp Rock 2 co-star quiet.
The 18 year old told PEOPLE: 'I learned my lesson - it's not very much fun when you break up in a public relationship. So, maybe next time keep a secret.'
And even though the Jonas Brother hunk has been portrayed as a bit of a heartbreaker after splitting from other young stars such as Taylor Swift, Demi still comes to his defence.
She said: 'I know that he has the best intentions.
'Definitely most guys don't have the same intentions that he does.'
Although the actress and singer does admit it was hard to keep her feelings for Joe to herself when she first started dating him.
Demi said: 'You want to say to your fans, 'guess what, I'm so in love with somebody,' you want to shout it from the rooftops, that's what you do when you fall in love.
'At the same time, I learned my lesson, you know - I will go public when I marry someone one day.'

Demi Lovato hopes her new music will be "Radio Friendly"
Demi Lovato likes to sing rock music. In fact, the Disney queen has a well-publicized love affair with all things rock and metal. But she's willing to take a leap on her next album and make music that is less rock influenced than her previous efforts. It's a natural step for Lovato as a singer with a big voice.
"I'm now just taking that next step and learning how to make my music more radio-friendly but also stay very artistic, and for me that's R&B," Lovato told MTV News last week. "I can put my vocal stylings on songs that are R&B and it showcases my vocals more than just singing really loud on a rock song."
Lovato says that while she's publicly owned up to loving rock, she's always sung R&B, too. So for her it wasn't much of a stretch, even if her audience might feel like it is. "It's really nice to embrace it," she said. "I grew up singing R&B and then I grew up listening to rock, so it was kind of weird. But I'm kind of learning how to incorporate the two and I'm having a good time with it."
Lovato may have more of a good time on the album, which she is currently working on while on tour with the Jonas Brothers, if her dream collaborations come to fruition. "I would love for Drake to be on the album," she said. "It's kind of like a pipe dream. I would also like to do a song with Trey Songz. It would be hot! Yeah, it would be really good."
Lovato named the music of Keri Hilson and Rihanna as inspirations for her upcoming album, which she's taking her time with. "It's something I want to focus on and really pour myself into it," she told DailyFill.com. "I don't want to rush it out," she explained. "I definitely feel like I'm proud of everything I put out there."
Do you want to hear Demi's songs on the radio, or do you like her rock-influenced music better? Let us know in the comments!
