Meanwhile, Nico (Brandon Smith) and Grady (Doug Brochu) excel on the game show and rekindle their friendship.

NEW YORK � Demi Lovato isn’t like any 18-year-old star I’ve met.

It’s press week for Camp Rock 2, the sequel to the 2008 hit TV movie starring the Jonas Brothers and Lovato, which will air in Canada on the Family Channel on Friday, Sept. 3.

Lovato walks into an early morning interview at the Parker Meridien Hotel radiating an odd combination of relaxation and intensity, which isn’t as conflicting as it first sounds.

Unlike lots of women her age, who try too hard to impress you with their niceness, or � worse � present a portrait of someone horribly bored by the whole show-business scene, Lovato is precisely what she announces herself to be. “I’m an 18-year-old-girl who is lucky enough to have one of the greatest careers in the world. I try to keep it real. I don’t have time to worry about what I’m projecting to the world. I’m just busy being myself.”

But she’s not as easy to pinpoint as she makes it sound. Even 30 minutes with her introduces you to someone who’s tough and tender, worldly and beguilingly innocent. And that is her charm. As she sings in the song “La La Land” that she wrote with the Jonases: “I am confident, but I still have my moments,/Baby, that’s just me./I’m not a supermodel, I still eat McDonald’s./Baby, that’s just me.”

Demi Downloads Her Own Music

In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Lovato talks about what it is like to go on iTunes and actually see your picture and hear your own music on the popular website.

"It was weird, it was so weird. Um seeing like your little face on iTunes... my second album came out, my face was like, all over iTunes, and that was even weirder.' giggles the pop singer who just turned 18. "So um... I have the iPhone, the iTunes app on my iPhone... I'll be scrolling down and looking at new releases and the ‘Camp Rock 2’ soundtrack was on there. I was like 'hey, there's me,' it's weird." (insert dorky giggle here)

Demi, who has been touring with the Jonas Brothers for most of the summer, is featured alongside the band in Disney's "Camp Rock 2"

Lovato admits that she has actually gotten on iTunes and downloaded her own song "a few times." You would think that the record label would actually provide her with free downloads but it sounds as if she actually has to pay $.99 a track like the rest of us.

Demi: "Frankie's Got Swag Like Justin Bieber" !

Disney star Demi Lovato said Frankie Jonas has 'swag' like Justin Bieber.

The youngest of the famous Jonas Brothers, 9-year-old Frankie, appears in new movie Camp Rock 2 and his co-star Demi, 18, thinks he is a rocker.

The singer-actress told MTV News: 'He's the biggest rock star of all of them.

'He's got swag like Justin Bieber and he rocks out like Mick Jagger, so he is kind of a combination of the two.

'He's kind of like the ultimate rock star - watch out, Justin Timberlake!'

And Joe, Kevin and Nick's youngest brother thinks he is most similar to 21-year-old Joe.

He said: 'I'm most like Joe because I've been a role model with him ever since we lived in Wyckoff, New Jersey.'

Frankie would like to continue acting and says that his brothers give him advice on his chosen career.

He added: 'They've given me a great one that my dad gave to them and they passed on to me during the filming of Camp Rock.

'It says, 'Live like you're at the bottom, even if you're at the top - remember where you came from.''

Demi Dosen't Sweat Her Hectic Career

Demi Lovato may be one of the hardest working teens in showbiz, but she doesn't let her workload stress her out.

In between recording her third album and shooting her Disney show Sonny with a Chance, the 18-year-old singer and actress also found time to film new movie Camp Rock 2:The Final Jam and a cameo in Grey's Anatomy.

Asked about the pressure of having so many different projects going on at once, Demi said: "I'm really excited about everything going on, and I really haven't had a period of time where I've been stressed yet.

"I'm just having a really good time dancing and doing my thing. The good thing is there are so many opportunities in every area. If you want to act, you can shoot a movie or do a television show. It's amazing."

Lovato added to the News Herald: "And I feel like for me, I'm definitely being able to showcase each passion; dancing on tour, singing on tour and albums and acting on the television show and other experiences."

The Remember December singer also assured fans that she has no plans to quit her music career. "I think singing is my No. 1 passion no matter what," she said. "I started out singing and acting is the hobby but I have fun doing all of it, or else I wouldn't do it, you know."
